MongoBro — MongoDB Database Browser
This Privacy Policy explains how MongoBro ("the App", "we", "our") handles information when you use the MongoBro mobile application on Android or iOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
By using MongoBro, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
We collect no personal information. MongoBro is a local, offline-capable tool. Specifically:
| Data Type | Collected? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Name / Email / Contact info | No | No accounts or sign-up |
| Location data | No | Not requested or used |
| Device identifiers | No | Not accessed |
| Usage / analytics | No | No analytics SDK included |
| MongoDB connection URIs | Local only | Stored on-device via SharedPreferences. Never transmitted to us. |
| MongoDB data / documents | No | Displayed in-app only; never stored or sent elsewhere |
| Crash reports | No | No crash reporting service integrated |
When you save a connection for quick access, the name and connection URI are saved using your device's local storage (Android SharedPreferences / iOS NSUserDefaults). This data:
MongoBro connects exclusively to the MongoDB server address you provide. The app makes no connections to any MongoBro or third-party infrastructure. Network traffic goes directly between your device and your MongoDB server.
When connecting to MongoDB Atlas, the connection uses standard TLS/SSL encryption provided by MongoDB and your device's operating system.
MongoBro does not integrate any third-party SDKs for advertising, analytics, tracking, or social media. The open-source libraries used (Flutter, mongo_dart, provider, shared_preferences) do not collect or transmit user data.
MongoBro is a developer tool not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since we collect no data from any user, this section is largely academic.
Because we collect and store no personal data on our end, there is no risk of a server-side data breach affecting you. Your connection strings on-device are protected by your device's standard security (screen lock, encryption).
We recommend using connection URIs with least-privilege MongoDB users and not storing URIs with full admin credentials if your device may be at risk.
Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to provide, correct, or delete. To remove all app data, uninstall MongoBro from your device. To remove saved connections only, use the delete option within the app's connection management screen.
If we update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the app or store listing. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
